Albert was born in Hempnall, Norfolk on 9 July 1897. His mother Eliza Page was single and worked as a servant. Her parents and siblings lived in Hempnall.
Albert was baptised in Stratton St Michael and St Peter Church on 17 April 1898. His mother was recorded as being single and to be living in Norwich when he was baptised. She had connections with Stratton St Michael as in 1891 she was working as a servant there for the Benstead family.
Albert was looked after by Charles and Ann Cushion who lived in Upper Street Tasburgh in 1901. He is recorded in the Census as being a boarder .
By 1911 Albert had moved to live in the Street, Hempnall with his uncle William Page. William was Eliza’s younger brother. He was a farm labourer.
After the beginning of the war William and Albert moved to live in Saxlingham Nethergate. He and his uncle are both listed on the Absent Voters list for 1918.
Albert enlisted in the Labour Corps, Service number 502868, on 13 May 1916. His service records have not survived. He was discharged on 11 August 1919 and returned to live in Saxlingham. In 1920 he was living on Shotesham Lane but then moved to live on the Street.
He married Doris Maud Buxton in 1929. She was born 29 December 1901. They had four children.

In 1939 the family were living at Heath Cottage, Framingham Earl. Albert was working as a bricklayer’s labourer.
He died in Norfolk in 1967.
